How It Began
after many permutations and also friends’ encouragement, I finally decided to launch a food blog to share my recipes and creation of food I made. I’m obsessed with cooking, baking, eating, sampling new ingredients and tries out a good recipe and a lip-smacking meal. As much as I love to eat, to read cookbooks, go food shopping, host dinners for dear friends and family, experiment with new recipes and - of course - talk about food. I’m not a professional cook. Today, most recipes on Nook Days are original. These are foods that my family really eat in our NOOK.
What’s With the Name?
But why NOOK DAYS? - Nook - a small little corner whereby I can freely enjoy experience my skill in cooking and baking. There is no big back story behind the name of this blog. When I was trying to think of a name, I wanted to choose something simple and lasting. Since this little kitchen is just like a nook in my home that I paid the most attention of, that is when NOOK DAYS is formed.
The Purpose Of This Blog
This blog serves as a container where I can share my food discoveries, stories, experiments and where I can be as creative as I want and can. It has turn into my recipe file, to keep track of things I made out from my kitchen. I’m penchant for cooking and baking. I love finding new recipes to try, as I didn’t attend any formal cooking or baking classes but do spent a bomb on cookbooks though. So most of my recipes would either of my creation, recipes outsource from cookbooks or online.
I believe that with food, just as in life, there is beauty in imperfection. My food styling philosophy is to keep everything as natural and simple as possible and most of all for it still to be real and edible after the picture has been taken.
